the cricket teams would only face each other at neutral venues.

In the thrilling Asia Cup 2025 final, Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first. Sahibzada Farhan (57) and Fakhar Zaman (46) gave Pakistan a solid start, putting on 84 runs for the opening wicket. The pair continued to dominate, taking Pakistan to 113/1 with 44 balls remaining. However, the momentum shifted dramatically in India’s favor as Kuldeep Yadav’s left-arm spin (4-30) and poor shot selection from Pakistan’s batsmen led to a collapse. India claimed the remaining nine wickets for just 33 runs, bundling Pakistan out for 146 with five balls to spare.

Chasing 147, India got off to a rocky start, losing three wickets in the first three overs. But Tilak Varma stepped up, playing a match-winning knock of 69 not out. Shivam Dube (33) and Sanju Samson (24) provided crucial support as India won with two balls to spare ¹.

“It is one of the best innings of my life,” Tilak Varma said after the match. “It was a bit pressured, but I wanted to stay in and finish the game till last.”

Pakistan captain Salman Agha reflected on his team’s batting performance: “It’s a tough pill to swallow. We couldn’t rotate the strike properly, and that is the reason we didn’t get the score we wanted. We need to sort out our batting.”

With this win, India clinched their record ninth Asia Cup title, showcasing a remarkable comeback in the final.
