88Agra : July 23, 2026 – The Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) has announced that the fourth edition of the UP T20 League will commence on August 14 at Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow, with the grand final scheduled for September 6 at Green Park Stadium, Kanpur. Designed to provide a high-quality platform for emerging cricketers, the tournament aims to deliver an IPL-style experience for players and fans alike.
Addressing a press conference at the Taj Convention Centre, Agra, UP T20 League Chairman Dr. Sanjay Kapoor said the competition will primarily be hosted in Lucknow and Kanpur this season. He added that future editions are expected to adopt a multi-city format, taking matches to other cities across Uttar Pradesh.
He said the league has been planned on the lines of the Indian Premier League, ensuring a professional and entertaining experience for spectators. He also announced that actor Angad Bedi will conduct the player auction, which begins on Friday.

More than 250 players will go under the hammer during the auction. Each franchise will sign 10 players in the ₹5 lakh category, 45 players in the ₹3.5 lakh category, while the remaining players will be available in the ₹2.5 lakh category.
The franchises will enter the auction with the following remaining purse balances:
– Gorakhpur Lions: ₹55.90 lakh
– Noida Super Kings: ₹80.60 lakh
– Meerut Mavericks: ₹28.70 lakh
– Lucknow Falcons: ₹30.20 lakh
– Kashi Rudras: ₹47.15 lakh
– Kanpur Superstars: ₹60 lakh
Dr. Kapoor also revealed that the UPCA is working towards launching a Women’s UP T20 League, which is expected to provide a similar platform for women cricketers in the state.

The tournament will be streamed live on JioHotstar, allowing cricket fans across the country to follow the action. Dr. Kapoor expressed confidence that the league will play a significant role in nurturing young talent from Uttar Pradesh and further strengthen the state’s cricketing ecosystem.
Among those present at the press conference were District Cricket Association Agra President Sunil Joshan, Vice President Rajesh Sehgal, UP T20 League Governing Council member Sanjeev Kumar Singh, and UPCA Media Chairman Mohammad Faheem ji.
