Meerut Mavericks vs Lucknow Falcons, Qualifier 2:

The stage is set for the final of UP T20 League 2025. The final match of this league will be played on 6 September, 2025. Earlier, in the Qualifier-2 match played on September, 4. A bowler wreaked havoc against Lucknow Falcons. This right-arm fast bowler bowled at a speed of 150 KMPH and sent 3 players of Lucknow to the pavilion. During this, he turned the tables of the match by taking 2 wickets in a single over. He also run out a batsman. Due to this brilliant performance of fast bowler Kartik Tyagi, his team Meerut Mavericks made it to the finals without Rinku Singh. Where they will face Kashi Rudras. 

Chasing the target of 144 runs in Qualifier-2, the Lucknow Falcons team started off fast. They added 42 runs in 31 balls for the first wicket. After this, Meerut’s fast bowler Kartik Tyagi gave the team its first success by dismissing Lucknow’s opener Abhay Pratap Singh. The match turned when this right-handed fast bowler sent two Lucknow batsmen to the pavilion in the same over. During this time Tyagi was bowling at the speed of 150 KMPH. In this match, he took 3 wickets for 29 runs in 4 overs. During this, Tyagi bowled 9 dot balls. With the help of his brilliant bowling, Meerut defeated Lucknow by 19 runs in this important match and secured a place in the final. In this match, Meerut was captained by Madhav Kaushik in place of Rinku. Rinku Singh has reached Dubai with the Indian team to participate in the Asia Cup 2025. In this match, Meerut team which came to bat first, was given a big blow by Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the very first over. Bhuvneshwar took 2 wickets in the very first over. In Qualifier-2, Meerut captain Madhav Kaushik won the toss and decided to bat first.

His decision was proved wrong by Lucknow Falcons captain Bhuvneshwar Kumar when he took two wickets in the same over.

He gave Lucknow its first success by dismissing wicketkeeper batsman Akshay Dubey on the second ball of the first over of Meerut’s innings. Akshay could not even open his account. On the fifth ball of the same over, Rituraj Sharma was bowled by Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Rituraj was also out on a duck. In this over, Bhuvneshwar Kumar gave two big shocks to Meerut without giving any runs. Due to this, Meerut’s innings faltered and its four wickets fell for only 29 runs. After this, Divyansh Rajput and Prashant Chaudhary took charge of Meerut’s innings and added 82 runs in 71 balls for the fifth wicket. Divyansh Rajput scored the most runs from the team.

He scored 67 runs in 45 balls with the help of 2 fours and 5 sixes. Prasant Choudhary scored 30 runs in 34 balls with the help of 1 four and 2 sixes. Apart from this, no other batsman could stay on the crease. In this way, Meerut’s team could only score 143 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs. In response, Lucknow Falcons made a good start. Chasing the target of 144 runs, Lucknow got off to a quick start with wicketkeeper batsman Aradhya Yadav and Abhay Pratap Singh. Both of them added 42 runs for the first wicket. Abhay Pratap Singh scored 22 runs in 10 balls with the help of 3 fours and 1 six. After this, Mohammad Saif came to the crease and took the team’s score forward along with Aaradhya. Saif scored 21 runs in 20 balls. 

As soon as he was out, Lucknow’s innings fell apart and the team could only score 124 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs and Meerut won the match by 19 runs. Aaradhya Yadav scored 54 runs in 50 balls with the help of three fours and two sixes. Apart from Kartik Tyagi’s 3 wickets, Vijay Kumar took two wickets for Meerut. Jeshan Ansari got 1 wicket.
