Kanpur: The Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) released the detailed roadmap for Season 4 of the UP T20 League at the league’s newly established office located at Green Park. The primary focus of this season will be on “Consolidation & Delivery,” marking a significant step toward elevating the league to the next level. Season 4 is scheduled to take place between August 14 and September 6, 2026, featuring the participation of six franchise teams from across the stat. Franchises will be permitted to retain a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 12 players, thereby ensuring team balance and continuity. Last year in 2025, this tournament was organized in Lucknow which was quite successful and played a big role in attracting a lot of audience.

Each team squad will comprise 23–25 players, including both players acquired through the auction and those selected from the local catchment areas. A purse of Rs. 1.25 crore has been allocated to each team, while the minimum fee structure for emerging players remains in effect.
The player transfer window is scheduled for June 1 to June 15, 2026, while the trials window will run from June 1 to June 30, 2026. Organized trials will be conducted across various regions of the state to ensure the identification and development of talent at the grassroots level.
Broadcasting and Commercial Expansion:
Season 4 will be broadcast by SONY, a partnership that underscores the league’s growing popularity and extensive reach.
The league is also set to introduce a “Celebrity Partnership Model,” an innovative step aimed at boosting its brand value and promotional reach by allowing select celebrity figures to hold limited equity stakes.
Fan Engagement Plans:
To further connect with supporters, a “Trophy Tour” will be launched across all franchise cities after the player auction, creating stronger excitement and engagement among fans and the wider sporting community.
Dr. Sanjay Kapoor, Chairman of the UP T20 League, shared:
“Season 4 is a crucial milestone for us as we shift our focus towards stronger execution and long-term growth. We are committed to building a transparent and professionally managed league where franchises, players, and stakeholders can grow together.”
Prem Manohar Gupta, Honorary Secretary of UPCA, added:
“The UP T20 League has become an important platform for young talent across Uttar Pradesh. In Season 4, we are making the structure even stronger through grassroots trials, player development opportunities, and improved league management.”
Season 4 Vision:
With greater emphasis on smooth operations, commercial growth, and nurturing grassroots talent, the UPCA’s goal is to establish the UP T20 League as one of India’s leading and most professionally run domestic T20 competitions.
