Agra : The much-awaited player auction for the fourth season of the UP T20 League 2026 was conducted in a grand and vibrant atmosphere at the Taj Convention Centre, Agra, with renowned sports anchor Resham Bhalla taking charge as the official host of the event.
Known for her dynamic stage presence and extensive experience in sports broadcasting, Resham Bhalla kept franchise owners, players, officials, and cricket enthusiasts engaged throughout the auction with her energetic presentation and seamless moderation. Her confident hosting added glamour and professionalism to one of the biggest events on the UP cricket.
The auction witnessed intense bidding among the participating franchises as they competed to assemble balanced and competitive squads for the upcoming season. Several young cricketers from Uttar Pradesh attracted significant attention, highlighting the league’s growing reputation as a platform for emerging talent.
Officials of the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association , franchise representatives, coaches, and distinguished guests attended the event, making it a memorable occasion ahead of the tournament. The auction marked another major milestone in the build-up to the fourth edition of the UP T20 League, which promises exciting cricket and a larger fan experience. Players showered with money in the UP T20 mini auction, Karn Sharma became the most expensive player. Players were showered with money in the mini auction for the fourth season of the UP T20 League, organized by the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA). More than 250 players went under the hammer at the auction held at the Taj Convention Center in Agra.
Experienced international cricketer and IPL star Karn Sharma was the most expensive player in the auction. Meerut’s Karn Sharma, with a base price of ₹5 lakh, was bought by Kanpur Superstars for ₹23 lakh.
The second-highest bid in the auction was for fast bowler Shubham Gautam from Bulandshahr. Shubham, with a base price of just ₹2.50 lakh, was bought by Noida Kings for ₹21.50 lakh. Shubham, who gained recognition through the UPCA’s Speed Hunt program, attracted everyone’s attention in this mini auction. Meerut batsman Shivam Chaudhary was bought by Gaur Gorakhpur Lions for ₹21 lakh.
Franchises also placed significant bets on Mohammad Sharim and Shiva Singh. Both players were bought for ₹17.50 lakh each. Mohammad Sharim went to Kashi Rudras, while Shiva Singh went to Noida Kings.
BCCI Vice President Rajiv Shukla praised the UP T20 League for providing opportunities to young players and helping them reach the next level. He said that this is the fourth edition of the UP T20 League, and the impact it has made over the past three seasons is clearly visible.
Dr. Sanjay Kapoor, Chairman of the Governing Council of the UP T20 League, said, “The UP T20 League has never been just a cricket tournament for us. From the beginning, our aim has been to create opportunities for talented cricketers from Uttar Pradesh and provide them a platform to realize their dreams.” He informed that in the auction, Lucknow Falcons bought Sameer Chaudhary for ₹11.75 lakh, while Noida Kings added Shoaib Siddiqui for ₹11.25 lakh. Kanpur Superstars bought Yashovardhan Singh and Priyanshu Pandey for ₹6.60 lakh.
Kashi Rudras added Vijay Yadav for ₹5.20 lakh, while Noida Kings acquired Anchit Yadav for his base price of ₹5 lakh. Meerut Mavericks signed Karan Chaudhary and Kunal Yadav for ₹5 lakh each. Kashi Rudras also added Vaibhav Chaudhary for ₹5 lakh.
Present during the auction were Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association Secretary Prem Manohar Gupta, Treasurer Sachin Anand Shukla, UP T20 League Governing Council member Sanjeev Kumar Singh, Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association Media Chairman Mohammad Faheem ji, District Cricket Association Agra President Sunil Joshan, Vice President Rajesh Sehgal, and other officials.
